An opera directed by Brett Bailey which transports Shakespeare’s tale to the ethnic and tribal conflicts of Congo

From a contemporary perspective, the tragedy of Macbeth might have been written to describe Africa’s interminable wars. This devastating opera sets the drama amidst the Congo’s bloody tribal and ethnic hostilities.
